Emotional Support Animal (ESA) Letters

At Mind Over Matter Psychotherapy, I provide Emotional Support Animal (ESA) evaluations and letters for individuals whose mental health may benefit from the companionship and comfort of an animal. Emotional support animals can play a vital role in reducing symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, and other emotional challenges by offering stability, connection, and unconditional support. During the evaluation process, I conduct a comprehensive clinical assessment to determine whether an ESA is an appropriate and beneficial part of your treatment plan. The evaluation includes a discussion of your mental health history, current symptoms, and how an animal contributes to your emotional well-being. If criteria are met, I provide a legally recognized ESA letter that complies with federal and state guidelines. This letter can be used to request reasonable accommodations in housing and certain travel situations. My approach is compassionate, ethical, and focused on your overall wellness — ensuring that you feel supported and respected throughout the process. I take time to understand your unique needs so that your evaluation and documentation reflect genuine clinical care and professional integrity.

FMLA & Disability Forms

At Mind Over Matter Psychotherapy, I understand that mental health challenges can sometimes make it difficult to maintain balance in your personal and professional life. When symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief, or burnout begin to interfere with your ability to function day-to-day, taking time to heal is not only necessary — it’s responsible.

I provide professional clinical evaluations and documentation to support clients who may qualify for Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or short-term disability benefits. These forms help you access the time, space, and protection you need to focus on recovery without fear of losing your job or income.

During this process, I work collaboratively with you to assess how your mental health is impacting your functioning and determine whether medical leave or workplace accommodations are clinically appropriate. All documentation is completed thoroughly and confidentially, ensuring it meets employer and policy requirements.

My goal is to advocate for your emotional well-being while helping you navigate the process with clarity, compassion, and professionalism — so you can take the steps needed to restore balance and return to life with renewed strength.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What can I expect in my first session?

Your first session is about getting to know you ,  your story, goals, and what brought you to therapy. We’ll discuss what’s been most challenging for you, explore what you’d like to change, and create a plan that feels comfortable and realistic for your needs.

Therapy is for anyone who feels stuck, overwhelmed, or ready to make meaningful change. You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit; many of my clients come to gain insight, set boundaries, or heal from emotional patterns that no longer serve them.

The length of therapy varies depending on your goals and concerns. Some clients prefer short-term, solution-focused sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll work collaboratively to determine what’s best for your pace and progress.

Yes. I offer secure telehealth sessions so you can attend therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own home. Virtual therapy allows for flexibility while maintaining the same quality and confidentiality as in-person sessions.

I accept select insurance plans and offer private pay options for those who prefer more flexibility and confidentiality. Many clients also use out-of-network benefits for reimbursement.
